After a prolonged battle with cancer, Gary Garland Windham returned to his heavenly home on March 30, 2018 at 3:00pm in Denison, TX at the age of 54.
Gary was born on August 16, 1963 to Joe Windham and Mollie Mills in Waco, Texas. Gary grew up in Garland, Texas where he spent his childhood and most of his school years. Although he graduated from Sherman High School in Sherman, Tx in 1982, he always considered himself a “South Garland Colonel”. Gary loved to exercise and was always passionate about helping others as a health and fitness trainer.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his parents Mollie Mills of Granbury, Tx, Joe Windham and wife Sorreny of Scurry, Tx; his sister, Charlotte Stevenson and husband Larry of Howe, Tx; his brother, Joey Windham and wife Jill of Terrell, Tx; his daughter Jennifer Lindsay and husband Ben of Blum, Tx; nieces and nephews, Caley Hogenson of Howe, Tx, Chad Windham of Garland, Tx, Chance Windham of Terrell, Tx, Colby Hogenson and wife Shannon of Sherman, Tx, and Courtney Hardy and husband Sam of Scurry, Tx, his grandson, Benny Lindsay Jr.; and numerous other extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 7th at 10:00am at Victory Church in Scurry, Tx. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gary’s life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Home Hospice of Grayson County at www.homehospice.org, in memory of Gary Windham.
