Loyd Lane Baldwin was born in Ola, Texas on September 20, 1936 to Loyd Ewing Baldwin and Mary Elaine Jordan. Loyd passed away in Dallas, Texas on May 12, 2017 at the Veterans Administration Memorial Hospital. Loyd was raised in Ola and graduated from Kaufman High School. After, high school Loyd joined the U. S. Navy in 1960 and serviced during the Korean War and served in the Vietnam Conflict. After an honorable discharge from the U. S. Navy in 1971 Loyd came back home to Ola. He was a member of the VFW and was the North Texas State Representative, Past Commander and Chaplin of the Honor Guard. Loyd also volunteered at the VA Hospital for 24 years and at the USO. He was a member of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Scurry, Texas. On August 7, 1971 Loyd married Eva-Lee Knight in San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by a daughter Tammi Richards on April 3, 2015 and a son Tommy Baldwin. Loyd is survived by his wife: Eva-Lee of Scurry, daughter: Luann Taylor of Boise, Idaho and Cathey Jones of San Diego, CA., brother: Roy Baldwin, sister: Linda Harville of Mesquite, grandchildren: Brian Richards, Kyle Hereford and Ericka, six great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
