Raymond Curtis Morrow, 85, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2017. He was born to Willie and Agnes Morrow in Garland, TX on November 1, 1931. Raymond attended Pleasant Grove High School and attended the SMU banking school. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1950. Raymond married Janis Woodard on November 1, 1950 and they spent a wonderful 66 years together. He was a Boy Scout leader, spent 26 years in the banking business and spent some time as an insurance agent. He served as a deacon and elder at Pleasant Grove Christian Church and a deacon and music director at Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Scurry. He was active in the Pleasant Grove Community serving as director of southeast YMCA, member of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. Raymond loved to sing gospel music and was the tenor singer in the Christian Men’s Quartet. His leisure time was spent golfing, fishing, bowling and he loved spending time with family and friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his son Curtis Morrow and great grandson Curtis Valdizia. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Janis Morrow of Scurry; daughters Crystal Mount and husband Howard of Scurry, Charie Campbell and husband Dave of Allen and Cherie Jones and husband David of Scurry; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and close friends who will miss him dearly. In honor of Raymond the family has asked that donations be sent to the Pleasant Grove Christian Church at 1324 Pleasant Dr. Dallas, TX 75217.
