Dorothy Inez Wood Riddle was born March 22, 1925 to James Lee Wood and Alta Inez Brown Wood in Dallas, TX. She died January 2, 2014. Dorothy's mother died when she was 14 and she and her three siblings were then raised for several years by their maternal grandparents, in east Texas. After she graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, she went to work in and insurance office. Through a blind date she met J. W. Riddle, Jr. They were married for 62 years until his death in 2007. They lived in Kleburg, Dallas, Crandall and Kaufman. For the last 2 ½ years Dorothy lived in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two siblings. She is survived by a son, Michael Wayne Riddle and wife Barbara and a daughter, Linda Brantley and husband Gary. Her brother Thomas Earl Wood survives her. She leaves six grandchildren, Tracey French and husband Greg, Terry Brantley and wife Nicole, Tamara Rasbury and husband Chris, Jeffrey Riddle, Jason Riddle, and Kimberly Riddle. Also missing Granny are ten great-grandchildren, Jackson French, Bailey French, Connor French, Emma Brantley, Brooke Brantley, Zach Rasbury, Isabella Rasbury, Olivia Rasbury, Joselyn Riddle and Kyrie Riddle. Services for Dorothy will be Saturday, January 4, 10:00 A.M. at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman. A special thanks is due the caregivers that cared for her these last 2 ½ years, Linda and Millie, and a host of ladies that cared for her in her own home in Kaufman for the previous 4 years.
