HOMER EUGENE CURTIS Homer Eugene Curtis was born in Waverley, Tennessee on July 7, 1931 to Melvin and Flora Williams Curtis. Homer passed away in Kaufman on June 21, 2013. Homer was raised in Missouri and Tennessee and later joined the U. S. Navy. He moved to Texas and worked for General Motors and then started working for IBM in Dallas as a field engineer for thirty years. Homer retired and moved to Scurry in 1982. He was a member of the American Legion. On December 17, 2004 Homer married Judith Jeanette Rains in Kemp. He is survived by his wife: Judith of Scurry, son: Ronnie Curtis of Springtown, daughters: Becky Key of Louisville, Kentucky and Sherri Fleming of Forney, brother: Joe Curtis of Millington, Tenn., sisters: Lavern Alderson of Lakeland, Tenn., Betty Phillips of Farmington, MO. And Judy May of Bartlett, Tenn., grandchildren: Ronny Kemp, Bret Curtis, Lauren Fleming and Hunter Fleming, great-grandson: Bradley Kemp.
