KENNETH VERNON BAILEY Kenneth Vernon Bailey was born in the Jiba Community on May 1, 1923 to Arthur Bailey and Lena Gronewald. Kenneth passed away on his birthday May 1, 2013 in Kaufman. He was raised in Jiba and then entered the U. S. Army on March 22, 1943 and served in World War II. Kenneth served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe and received the Bronze Star. After the war Kenneth came home to Kaufman where he was a master bricklayer for over sixty years. He was a member of the Saint Ann Catholic Church where he was very involved. Kenneth was also a member of the American Legion in Kaufman. On June 1, 1948 Kenneth married Ann Marie Elzner at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Kaufman by Fr. Wenceslas Pechal. He is survived by his wife: Ann of Kaufman, son: Joseph Glenn Bailey and his wife Debbie of Crowley, daughter: Annette Bailey of San Antonio, sister: Verna Jo Sullivan of Kemp, grandchildren: Patrick Ryan Bailey and Joshua Michael Bailey and many other relatives and friends. Rosary was recited Sunday May 5, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff of Kaufman Healthcare Center for the loving care they provided.
