Walter Carl McGee

WALTER CARL McGEE Walter Carl McGee was born in Norphlet, Arkansas on December 28, 1931 to Willis and Willie McCargo McGee. Walter passed away at his home in Oak Grove on February 21, 2013. Walter was raised in Kermit and graduated from Kermit High School in 1950. After high school Walter entered the U. S. Marine Corps in 1950 and served in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1953. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. Walter worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company for thirty years and retired in 1990. He moved to Kaufman in 1993 and worked for Century 21 Real Estate for four years. Walter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kaufman. On December 3, 1954 Walter married Maxine Gotcher in Kermit, Texas. He is survived by his wife Maxine of Oak Grove, daughters: Joani Cross and her husband Eddie of Scurry, Katie Thatcher and her husband Tony of Midland, Jenny Van Blaricom and her husband Chuck of Twain Hart, California and Kelli Pereira and her husband Jorge of Edmond, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Charity Roberts, Chandler Thatcher, Brandon Howard, Chase Thatcher, Chet Thatcher, Chance Thatcher, Mason Pereira, Charlton Thatcher and Jacob Cross, six great grandchildren and a sister: Ann Hinds of Walden, Arkansas.
