Virginia Maurlean Tanton was born in Harmon, Louisiana on May 30, 1928 to Jonathan Glasscock and Mary Ferrell. Virginia passed away in Terrell, Texas on January 11, 2013. She was raised in Coushatta, Louisiana and graduated from Coushatta High School. After high school Virginia graduated from Elliott Business School in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduation from business school Virginia immediately began working for Crain Chemical Company in Shreveport. The company moved to Dallas and Virginia went with the company to Dallas in the early fifties. Virginia worked for Crain Chemical Company for thirty-eight years before retiring. After, she married Bill Tanton on July 4, 1959 in Dallas, Texas Virginia moved to Mesquite, Texas. She later moved to Terrell, Texas. Virginia was a member of the Talty Baptist Church in Talty, Texas. Her husband Bill preceded her in death on September 29, 2007. Virginia is survived by her daughters: Vicky Parnell and her husband Lloyd of Arlington, Texas and Robin Markle and her husband Victor of Forney, Texas, grandchildren: Chris Parnell, Kelley Daniel, Jason Markle and Jeremy Markle, nine great-grandchildren, special niece: Eletha Seabaugh of Caushatta, Louisiana and many other relatives and friends.
