David Houston Dugan

David Houston Dugan was born in Forney, Texas on September 3, 1931 to James and Catherine Brooks Dugan. David passed away in Mesquite, Texas on July 12, 2012. David was raised in Forney and graduated from Forney High School in 1948. He then attended Draughns Business College in Dallas. David started working for Sangers Department Store for ten years then moved to Austin where he worked for Good Friends Department Store. Moving back to Dallas David began working for Reynolds Penland Stores. Later David help found Consumer Credit Counseling Service where he was a board member and later became the President of CCCS. In 1984 David moved to Scurry and retired in 2002. He was a member of the Church of Christ and past member of the Park Cities Rotary Club. David married Doris Evelyn Freeman in Dallas on August 12, 1950. David was preceded in death by a granddaughter and two great-grandsons. He is survived by his wife: Doris of Mesquite, sons: Bob Dugan of Mineola and Chris Dugan of Crandall, daughters: Dianne Jernigan of Scurry, Karen Dugan of Forney and Catherine Jenkins of Garland, brother: James E. Dugan of Duncanville, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
