LISA ALINE SHORT She said, "It is time for me to rest now. I have fought this war too long and I am so tired." "This is not goodbye. It is just time for me to rest my head" Don't be afraidit will be alright." And so the sweet and gentle spirit of Lisa Aline Johnson Short left us on July 3, 2012 and entered through the gates of heaven to find her rest and kneel at the feet of Jesus. Lisa was born on May 1, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to Finis E. Johnson and Myrna V. Hankey Johnson. She was the loving sister of Kathy Johnson Short and husband Dan of Scurry, Texas. She graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School of Dallas, Texas in 1980. She married Wes Short on July 24, 1981. She worked for several years at Bank of American in Pleasant Grove, Texas before becoming a full time mom to her three boys, Wes Jr. age 20 yrs and Chris and Nick, both 15. They were the pride and joy of her life and her most precious possessions. She had lived in Scurry, Texas since 1994. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church of Scurry, Texas. She is preceded in death by her dad, Danny (Finis) Johnson and both paternal and maternal grandparents. She is survived by husband Wes, sons Wes jr., Chris and Nick mom Myrna and sister Kathy. Numerous nieces and nephews, many extended family members and friends. Lisa's legacy of grace and beauty will carry on through her boys; they will go on for now in her memory and in the joyous promise of a heavenly reunion one day. Though the loss we feel is deep with sadness, we will celebrate Lisa's life with and even deeper meaning. In the memories we cherish there is so much goodness and love. They will offer us much comfort when we need it most. A memorial service celebrating the life of Lisa Short was offered at Mount Olive Baptist Church on Monday, July 9, 2012 by Pastor Dan Short.
