Edwin Earl Ayres

Edwin E. Ayres was born in Kerens, Texas on July 25, 1922 to Stewart and Janie Glass Ayres. Edwin passed away in a Kaufman hospital on October 27, 2009. Edwin was raised in Kerens and later moved to Scurry where he attended Scurry-Rosser Schools. He joined the U. S. Navy serving in World War II. After, the war Edwin moved to Kaufman where he worked for the Kaufman Locker Plant for thirty-eight years retiring in 1985. Edwin was a member of the Kaufman Church of Christ. On June 25, 1947 Edwin married Virginia Watt in Hedley, Texas. He is survived by his wife: Virginia of Kaufman, son: Edwin Michael Ayres and his wife Lisa of Irving, daughter: Kay Ayres Naff and her husband Allen of Bertram, brother: Roy Carrol Ayres of Sacramento, California, grandchildren: Ginger Floyd, Todd Naff, David Ayres and Paul Ayres, great-grandchildren: Charlie, Kallen, Addison, Logan and Ava Kate and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kaufman Church of Christ with interment following in Kaufman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be to the Boles Childrens Home in Quinlan, TX or to the Hickory Square Retirement Center in Kaufman.
