Q. D. Pettigrew

Q. D. Pettigrew was born in Kaufman on January 20, 1928 to Quincy and Mary Powell Pettigrew. Q. D. passed away in a Houston hospital on September 4, 2009. Q. D. was raised in Ola and Kaufman. He entered the U. S. Army and served in WWII. After, the war Q. D. joined the Texas National Guard and also worked for Ford Motor Company for twenty years. Q. D. retired from the Texas National Guard after forty-one years serving as a recruiter. He was a member of the old Cottage Heights Baptist Church in Kaufman. On, December 21, 1994 Q. D. married Clara Lightfoot in Canton. He is survived by his wife: Clara of Kaufman, sons: Timothy Pettigrew of Kaufman and Ronald Pettigrew of Lively, daughters: Penny Ann Cooper of Apache, Oklahoma and Sherrie Slayton of Scurry, stepson: Gerald Kirkland of Canton, stepdaughter: Kay Williams of Gladewater, fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
