Clyde J. McIntyre was born in the Becker Community on March 11, 1919 to Charles and Mary Fogleman McIntyre. Clyde was raised in Becker and then joined the U. S. Navy and served in World War II. He worked for International Harvester in Kaufman for two years and then opened a feed store in 1950 in Kaufman. Clyde raised turkeys for a short time before becoming a salesman for Volunteer Purchasing Group for twenty-five years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kaufman and a past member of the American Legion. On November 14, 2006 Clyde married Doris Calhoun in Durant, Oklahoma. Clyde was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Guthrie McIntyre and three sisters. He is survived by his wife: Doris of Kaufman, son: Robert Wayne McIntyre and his wife Sharon of Cedar Park, Texas, stepsons: Walter Dykes and his wife Kim of Kaufman and James Dykes and his wife Christine of Kaufman, stepdaughters: Angela Brockway and her husband Tim of Kaufman and Lori Dykes of Kaufman, sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
