Mary Evelyne Coker was born in Kaufman, Texas on August 31, 1929 to Thomas Jefferson Tarpley and Mamie Iva Glenn. Mary passed away in Kaufman on June 2, 2011. She was raised in the communities of Rand, Becker and Jiba. Mary moved to Kaufman where she lived most of her life. She was a member of the Landmark Church of Christ in Kaufman. On May 4, 1946 Mary married A. T. Coker in Kaufman. Her husband A. T. preceded Mary in death on January 6, 2003. Mary is survived by her sons: Robert Coker of Bullard, Thomas Coker of Princeton, James Coker of Denton and Mark Coker and his wife of Laurie of Winston Salem, North Carolina, daughter: Patricia Shaw and her husband W. T. of Kaufman, brother: Jeff Tarpley Jr. and his wife Margie of Becker, brother-in-law: Glen Davenport of Bonham, sisters-in-law: Frances Tarpley of Kaufman and Gloria Tarpley of Mabank, grandchildren: Denise Farmer, Stacey Adkins, Kelli Boyd, Katrina Coker, Todd Shaw, Jonathan Shaw and Ian Coker, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
