Charles H. Tarpley of Garland passed away in Dallas on Jan. 27, 2012. Charles was born in the Rand Community on Dec. 21, 1921. He was raised in the Rand Community. Charles entered the U. S. Army in 1942 and served in World War II. He worked for LTV in Grand Prairie as an electrician for thirty-four years. Charles was a member of the VFW Post 6796 in Garland and a member of the Orchard Hills Baptist Church. Charles married Floris Williams Goodwin in Garland on May 27, 1988. He is survived by his wife: Floris of Garland, son: Thomas Tarpley and his wife Kim of Dallas, daughters: Diana Stokes and her husband Keith of Big Sandy and Susan Franco and her husband Eduardo of Mesquite, grandchildren: Krystal Reznicek and her husband Brian, Staci Pierce, Jeff Maly and his wife Sara, Brandi Poe and her husband David and Rachel Franco, great-grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, Kayla, Kaitlynn and Connor. Family was his whole life and taught his children the importance of family.
