Charles Joseph Cremers passed away in Kaufman, Texas on June 4, 2010. Charles was born June 3, 1930 in Saint Cloud, Minnesota to Anton and Catherine Sauer Cremers. Charles graduated from St. Cloud Tech in 1948 and worked for the VA hospital in St. Cloud from 1948 to 1950. He entered the U. S. Air Force in 1950 where he was with the Air Police at Ouffett AFB in Omaha, Nebraska. During his time in the air force Charles received a special award for talking down and disarming a soldier that had shot a person. He began his career with the Federal Corrections Institute in 1955 as a guard at Sandstone FCI in Sandstone, Minnesota. Charles transferred to the FCI in Seagoville, Texas in 1962 where he later became a Senior Lieutenant. He retired in 1985 and completed his retirement as a Senior Citizen Director at Pleasant Grove Senior Center in Dallas, Texas. He loved his time and devotion the seniors. Charles was a life member of the Buddies Chapter 11 DAV in Dallas, a member of the St. Augustine American Legion in St. Cloud Minnesota. On August 26, 1997 Charles married Ollie Garrett in Kaufman, Texas. Charles is survived by his wife: Ollie Cremers of Scurry, TX, sons: Charles J. Cremers Sr. of Tyler, TX and James J. Cremers and his wife Jeneane of Flint, TX, daughters: Debra J. Cremers of Athens, TX, Darlene Gamble of Kaufman, TX and Vickie Mundie and her husband Bart of Scurry, TX. grandchildren: Jeffery J. Cremers and Jerad J. Cremers, brothers: John Cremers and Tony Cremers both from Minnesota, sister: Mary Cay Arnzen and many other relatives and friends.
