George David Roland

George David Roland was born July 16, 1938 to Johnny and Lillian Donawho Roland in the Jiba Community. George was raised in the Kaufman area and later moved to Dallas where he lived for thirty-five years. He worked thirty-five years for Banctec in Irving before moving back to Kaufman in 1997. George worked for three years at the Kaufman Seven-Eleven Store before retiring. He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Oak Grove. He married his first wife Wanda Ann Jennings in the Poetry community on March 24, 1956 and she preceded George in death in 1978. George later married Barbara Harmon in Dallas on December 20, 1982. George is survived by his wife: Barbara of Kaufman, sons: James David Roland of Eustace, Carroll Wallace Chandler of Haughton, Louisiana and Jason Edward Chandler of Kaufman, daughters: Judy Ann Roland of Orlando, Florida and Donna DeAnn Bateman of Kaufman, sister: Doris Jean Birkett of Florida, nine grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
