Annie Bell Lewis was born in Bastrop, Texas on April 16, 1944 to Walter Jackson Edwards and Annie Richter. Annie passed away in a Dallas hospital on June 18, 2011. She was raised in Bastrop and later moved to Duncanville and then to Scurry in 1971. Annie worked for the Dairy Queen in Kaufman for twenty years and then worked for Aberdeen for five years and last worked as a bus drive for the Kaufman Independent School District for nine years. Annie married Arthur Lewis in Duncanville on October 7, 1960. Her husband Arthur preceded Annie in death on October 2, 1993 and also by two brothers Robert and Roy Edwards. Annie is survived by her son: Alan Lewis of Scurry, daughters: Sharon Caldwell of Kaufman and Carmen Starkes and her husband Brad of Scurry, sister: Dorothy Henderson of Midlothian, dear friend and beloved companion: Clinton Tanner of Scurry, stepsons: Danny Lewis of Garland and Larry Lewis of Corsicana, stepdaughters: Barbara Lewis of Powell and Kathy Antuna of Mesquite, grandchildren: Tamara Caldwell, Taryn Caldwell, Derrick Green, Stuart Green and Cameron Starkes, great-grandchildren: Keely Stewart, Carlee Chambless and Zachariah Green and many other relatives and friends.
