Corene Bateman

Corene Bateman was born in Walton, Texas on September 18, 1925 to Charlie Stephens and Birdie Hardy. Corene passed away in a Dallas hospital on July 28, 2010. Corene was raised in Walton and then moved to Star Brand Ranch in Kaufman in 1947. She lived the rest of her life in Kaufman. Corene worked for Farm Bureau in Kaufman for eighteen years and helped her grandson at Mackey's Cleaners. Corene was the church secretary for the First Assembly of God Church of Kaufman for twenty years and was also taught Sunday School and was a founding member. On March 30, 1946 Corene married EC Bateman in Van Zandt County. Her husband EC preceded her in death on June 3, 1991 and a son Jimmy also preceded her in death. Corene is survived by her sons: Randy Bateman and his wife Janie of Round Rock, Danny Bateman of Kaufman, daughter: Rosa Lee Foster of Kaufman, grandchildren: Mackey Foster, Joey Foster, Ryan Bateman, Rusty Bateman, Jonathan Bateman and Alisha Weilder, three step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
