HERSCHEL E. CAMPBELL Herschel E. Campbell was born in Eustace, Texas on November 30, 1912 to Samuel and Alice Smith Campbell. Herschel was raised in Eustace and married Lora Mae Scarbrough in Eustace on September 20, 1933. Herschel moved to Kaufman in 1937 to open the first laundry in Kaufman. After, World War II Herschel started a jewelry store in Kaufman in 1947. He later moved his watch repair business to Greenslade's Drug Store and then retired in 1999. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kaufman, Kaufman Volunteer Fire Department and the Rotary Club. His wife Lora Mae Scarbrough preceded Herschel in death on January 12, 2006. He is survived by his daughters: Louise Garner and her husband James of Ovilla, Virginia Thomas of Dallas, Patsy Trail of Kaufman and Carole Aga and her husband Bobby of Kaufman, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Family requests memorial be to the First United Methodist Church of Kaufman, Visiting Nurses Association and the Kaufman Volunteer Fire Department.
