Jimmy Guynn Finley was born June 21, 1930 to Willie Taylor Finley and Nora Eidell Gentle. Jimmy passed away in Mesquite on March 14, 2011. Jimmy was raised in McKinney and joined the U. S. Army and served in Alaska during the Korean War. After the service he moved to Mesquite and then moved to Kaufman in 1969. Jimmy worked for Southwestern Transportation and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Tolosa Baptist Church. Jimmy married Doris Fay Jones in McKinney on October 20, 1948. A daughter Linda Fay Finley in 1967 and a son Gary Guynn Finley preceded Jimmy in death in 1999. Jimmy is survived by his wife: Doris Fay Finley of Kaufman, daughter: Deborah Lynn Roberson of Kemp, grandchildren: Monica Thomas, Alan Thomas, Chad Thomas, Amber Smith, Kadie Roberson and Crystal Roberson, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.
