William Alford Newman

William Alford Newman was born in Dallas, Texas on March 25, 1927 to Alford John Newman and Ila Marie Davidson. Bill passed away in Kaufman, Texas on March 23, 2012. He was raised in Dallas where he lived until he moved to Scurry, Texas in 1971. Bill served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a cabinet maker for BMCO Plaining Mill in Dallas for fourty-five years and retired in 1992. Bill was a member of the Kaufman First Assembly of God Church. On October 18, 1947 Bill married Ruth Helan Olson in Dallas, Texas. Bill is survived by his wife: Ruth of Scurry, son: Ronald Alfred Newman of Houston, sister: Elouise Moreau of Bedford, grandchildren: Jeremy Alford Newman, Jessica Anne Newman, Mirands Kate Newman, Hannah Esther Newman, Kara Michaelle Newman, great-grandchildren: John Andrew Coleman, Naima Rasha Saffi, Scott Christifer Thebeau and Ella Mae Coleman.
