Claude Lynn Bryant passed away from this world on April 4, 2010 at his home after suffering from a lengthy illness. He was 60 years old. Claude was born on May 23, 1949 in Waxahachie Texas and was the third born of seven children. As a child his brother Bobby recalls them making up funny nicknames for one another and his was " Teto. " As a teenager he enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, and had achieve to be a black belt in karate. His sister Donna recalls as children her asking him to teach her some "karate moves" and when Claude agreed to show her she accidentally kicked his front tooth out. As an adult, Claude continued to enjoy fishing/camping with his family and friends, oil painting, and sketching landscapes. In his later years, he wrote poetry about his feelings and every day experiences. His poems were published in The Junction, a local entertainment paper in Terrell, Texas. His last poem written was titled " It is." He married his first wife Mary in1965 and they had three children together Donna, Alisa and Wade. They settled in Emory, Texas where he served as a volunteer at the Fire Department and Ambulance and served as a Deputy Sheriff's Officer for Rains County for several years. He continued to remain self-employed in his trade profession in the home remodeling business for the remainder of his lifetime. While raising his family, he could be seen in his spare time volunteer coaching his son's baseball team, attending his daughter's softball games, and the other daughter's drill team activities. He would often show his famous karate moves in the yard when playing with his kids and took pleasure in taking his son for a walk in the woods to go hunting. In 1973 he was saved by our Lord and Savior and baptized at Northridge Baptist Church in Edgewood, Texas. He married Dusty York on July 21,1988. They lived in the Dallas area and then settled in their home in the country in Kaufman, Texas. Despite his health, he spent his final months reading the bible and in prayer. He became friends with Flora who took care of him during his weekly dialysis and was always willing to help his neighbor and best friend Fred Hale when in need. He was preceded in death by his father the late Alvin William Bryant and two brothers George and James Bryant, and one half brother David Beckham. His Wife Dusty York Bryant of Kaufman, Texas, survives him. His mother Ruth Beckham of Gainesville, Texas, 1 brother Bobby Bryant of Valley View, Texas, two sisters Joyce and Donna Bryant of Texarkana, Arkansas; three children Donna Evans of Alvarado, Texas, Alisa Bryant of Quinlan, Texas and Wade Bryant of Quinlan, Texas; 1 nephews Bobby Bryant Jr. of Valley View, Texas and niece Cassie Shelter of Boyd, Texas; and three grandchildren Gage, Jadelynn, and Journie. Claude loved his children and family.
