Coy Leonard Brantley

December 24, 1916 — April 16, 2011

Coy Leonard Brantley passed from death to life on April 16, 2011 at his home in Kaufman, Texas. He is survived by a daughter and son in law, Marsha and Ronny Johnson of Kaufman, Texas; a son and daughter in law, Rickey and Ellen Brantley of Ft. Worth, Texas and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Oleta and son Donald Wayne. Coy Brantley was born in rural Red River County December 24, 1916. He spent his working life as a truck driver. Coy was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, Texas. On February 1, 1961, six men organized the Friendship Men's Brotherhood. Coy was elected as Secretary Treasurer and served in that position until February of 2000. During those 39 years, Coy worked with the brotherhood in serving both inside and outside the church. Missionaries were supported, home repairs were done, the hungry were fed. He was a good and faithful servant and he is now at home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville, Texas. Donations in his honor may be made to Kaufman ISD Scholarship Fund, or to Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County, Texas.=
