Venancio Ruiz

Venancio "Shorty" Ruiz was born in Austin, Texas on April 1, 1922 and passed away in Kaufman, Texas on August 23, 2010. Shorty was raised in Mexico and later moved back to Austin when he was twenty-one. He moved to the Dallas area in the 1960's and later worked for the Star Brand Ranch in Kaufman for fifteen years. Shorty was a member of the Saint Ann Catholic Church in Kaufman. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sons: Johnny Ruiz of Fort Pierce, Florida, Venancio Ruiz Jr., of Kaufman, Tommy Ruiz of Dallas and Jessie Ruiz of Kaufman, daughters: Paula Ruiz of Kaufman and Becky Moctezuma of Kaufman, brothers: Francisco Ruiz of Pharr, TX and Jesus Ruiz of Austin, sister: Natividad Hernandez of Chicago, Illinois, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.
