Richard Wayne Helsley

Richard Wayne Helsley was born in Dallas, Texas on September 1, 1943 to Joe and Ima Tutt Helsley. Richard passed away in a Dallas hospital on September 9, 2009. He was raised in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from W.W. Samuels High School in Dallas. Richard worked as a mechanic in Dallas at Roger Mier Cadillac and Sewell Village Cadillac. For seven years Richard worked for the Dallas County Sheriff as a bus driver. Richard loved boating, fishing and hunting with his family. He was a member of the Grays Prairie Missionary Baptist Church in the Grays Prairie Community. On December 21, 1962 Richard married Scharlotte Guess in Balch Springs. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Scharlotte of Kemp, daughters: Slone Taliaferro and her husband Chris of Cottonwood and Tess Gorden and her husband Terry of Kemp, brother: Robert Helsley of Arkansas, sister: Elizabeth Burrows of Allen, grandchildren: Christian Gorden, Cross Gorden and Ty Taliferro, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
