Alvin Bruce Kemper was born in Piggott, Arkansas on September 28, 1950 to Frank and Verline Butler Kemper. Al passed away in Kaufman on September 8, 2011. Al was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and later he joined the U. S. Air Force and served during the Viet Nam War. After the service Al attended Northwest Missouri State University and graduated in 1974 with a degree in elementary education. Al started teaching in Wentzville, Missouri and taught there for three years. In 1980 Al moved to Dallas and taught school for Dallas Independent School District teaching at Davy Crockett, Zaragosa Elementary and Seagoville Middle School. Al retired in 2006 and began substitute teaching in Mabank and Kaufman ISD last year. Al was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Kaufman where he taught adult Sunday School. Al married Mary Beth Deere in Springfield, Missouri on October 7, 1978. He is survived by his wife: Mary Beth Kemper of Kaufman, son: Eric Wayne Kemper of Kaufman, mother: Verline McKenney of Florissant, Missouri, sister: Marsha Kay Carpenter of Ferguson, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be to the Genesis Center in Kaufman or to the American Diabetes Association
