George Joseph Spears

George Joseph "Butch" Spears was born in Dallas, Texas on September 1, 1950 to Elbert Spears and Helen Florence Troyan. Butch passed away in Kaufman, Texas on September 4, 2010. Butch was raised in Scurry and graduated from Scurry-Rosser High School. He later entered the U. S. Army and served in the Viet Nam War. After, the service Butch moved back to Scurry. He was a member of the Kaufman VFW, American Legion and Saint Ann Catholic Church. Butch was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother: Helen Spears of Scurry, sisters: Carol Bankston of Scurry and Diana McWhorter of Scurry, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
