Herschel Ray Baucom

Herschel Ray Baucom of Crandall, Texas passed away in a Kaufman, Texas hospital on July 12, 2010. Herschel was born in Kerens, Texas on March 18, 1939 to William Jonathan Baucom and Birdie Taylor. Herschel was raised in Peeltown and then moved to Freeport and later to Crandall. He worked for Sears for ten years and later became a minister in 1970. He pastored in several churches over the years in Kaufman, Elmo, Grays Prairie, Zip City and Payne Springs and retired in 2003. Herschel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crandall. He married Dorothy Sue Lanfair in Crandall on May 24, 1958. A daughter Sandra Joan Baucom preceded Herschel in death on January 10, 2010. Herschel is survived by his wife: Dorothy of Crandall, grandsons: Justin Graham of Caney City and Bryan Graham of Crandall, brother: James Baucom of Dallas and many other relatives and friends. The family asked that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Jamie Nash Fund at American National Bank.
