Eddie Jean May

December 14, 1922 — January 28, 2012

Eddie Jean May was born on December 14, 1922 to Jesse Lee and Alyne Burk. She passed away on January 28, 2012. She was married to Leon May on September 13, 1941. They lived in Crandall over 30 years and later in the Warsaw Community for more than 30 years. Eddie Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, David May as well as sister, Mary Alice Walters and brothers Billy Jack Burk, J. L. Burk, and Sam Burk. She is survived by her son Robert (Bob) May and daughter Lerna Clearman and husband Richard. She is also survived by her grandsons Scott Clearman, Todd Clearman and John May and granddaughters Deana (May) Kopp and Bobbi Gail May. Also left to cherish her memory are great-grandchildren Taylor, Josh and Jake Clearman; Ashlee Kopp; Sam, Max and Abbey Furst; Jeremiah and Mandilyn May. She leaves one brother James Roby Burk and wife Nell of Booneville, Ark as well as sisters-in-law, Janie Burk of Crandall, Josephine Burk of Seagoville, and Betty May of Mesquite and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as Mim to her grand and great-grandchildren (most of whom she cared for daily through their pre-and early school days) and she was known as Mimi by the many other children she cared for over the years. The life lessons she taught were in equal doses of her living example of love and generosity, her cooking and sharing delicious food, giving common sense advice she expected to be followed, and the "be good stick".
