Cleon Summers Lewis Jr. was born in Forney, Texas on October 13, 1922 to Cleon and Madie Criswell Lewis. Cleon passed away in a Kaufman, Texas hospital on May 19, 2011. Cleon was raised in Forney and graduated from Forney High School in 1939. In 1942 Cleon entered the U. S. Army and served in World War II in the European Campaign. After, the service Cleon moved back to Forney and ranched in numerous places in Texas including the King Ranch. He also managed a plantation in Georgia for several years. Cleon moved to Kaufman in 2000 and later married Adela Rodriguez on December 28, 2006 in Kaufman. His first wife Wanda Colquitt preceded Cleon in death in 1988. Cleon is survived by his wife: Adela Lewis of Kaufman, son: John S. Lewis and his wife Denise of Tyler, daughters: Julie Turner and her husband Ronnie of Kaufman and Janie Ann McDaniel and her husband Rick of Kaufman, brother: O. J. Lewis of Forney, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
