Clarence Philip "Bud" Ackles was born Louisville, Nebraska on April14, 1916 to Clarence and Sylvia Suiter Ackles. Clarence passed away in Malakoff, Texas on December 27, 2010. He was raised in Louisville and then entered the U. S. Navy when he was sixteen. Clarence served in World War II and retired from the Navy. After the service he moved to Dallas and worked for National Life Insurance and began working for the U. S. Postal service in 1954. Clarence moved to the Cedar Creek Lake area in 1967 and retired in 1974 and then later moved to Scurry in1995. Clarence moved to Malakoff in 2006. He was a member of the Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Scurry. In 1921 Clarence married Margie Naomi Jeffcoat in Iowa. Margie preceded Clarence in death on May 12, 2001, a daughter Sylvia Marlar also preceded Clarence in death on May 14, 2007. Clarence is survived by his daughter: Diane Ackles of Gun Barrel City, son-in-law: Dwayne Marlar of Scurry, grandchildren: Tina Marlar of Scurry and Phillip Marlar and his wife Teresa of Scurry, great grandchildren: Taylor and Tanner Marlar and many other relatives and friends.
