LOCKIE ELIZABETH ROGERS Lockie Elizabeth Rogers was born December 15, 1915 to the late T.W. and Mary Grubbs in Crandall, TX. She passed away February 14, 2009 in Kaufman, TX. She married Jesse M. Rogers on March 9, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband and their daughters Patsy Rogers and Judi Dickerson, brother T.W. Grubbs, Jr., sisters Ida V. Jones and Virginia Workman. She is survived by grandchildren Michael Dickerson of Kaufman and Donece Bland and husband Scotty of Pontotoc, MS., great grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, Abigail and Adriana Bland, brothers Kenneth Grubbs and wife Reba and Bill Grubbs, sisters Lilla Weber and husband Loyd and Laura Breedlove as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lockie was a lifelong resident of Kaufman County and was a member of the Church of Christ in Crandall. She retired from Texas Instruments after many years of service. After retiring she kept busy quilting, playing 42 or dominoes and enjoying her passion for sports, rarely missing any televised ballgames. She was also an avid reader of books of all kinds. Lockie was a special lady, full of strength, energy and spirit regardless of what adversity came her way. To her large family she was "our rock and inspiration" and she was loved and admired by all.
