Frederick Warren Schneiter

June 10, 1935 — September 12, 2011

Fred Schneiter, 76, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of God, surrounded by family and friends on Monday, September 12, 2011. He was born in Toledo, OH, on June 10, 1935, but "got to Texas as soon as he could." Fred was injured in a farming accident on July 16, and he battled a closed-head injury, broken bones, and finally the pneumonia that ultimately took all his strength and his last breaths. He, his family, his nurses and doctors all fought a valiant fight to restore him to the vital man he was before the accident, but it just was not meant to be; God needed him more than we did. He leaves behind many people who loved him; most notable his best friend and wife of 45 years, Charlotte; his daughters Katherine Woods (and husband Tony) and Tammy White (and husband Jim) and his son Robert Schneiter (and partner Angie Brewer); Grandchildren Brandy Moore (and husband Billy), Tiffany Burk (and husband Chris), Kari Boylan (and husband Jeff), and Jim Ricks-White (and wife Kymberli), Geoffrey, Michael, and Jennifer Peacock; Great-grandchildren Aubrey, Christian, James, Zoe, Cormac, Finn, Cameron, Liam, Sadie, Amber, Leatrice, and Faith. Also left to cherish his memory are friends and extended family too numerous to mention, and his church family at Our Merciful Saviour Episcopal Church in Kaufman, TX. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Schneiter, and his grandson, Brandon Schneiter, all of whom helped welcome him into Heaven. Fred retired from Texas Instruments in 1996, and spent his later years doing what he had always dreamed of doing - owning a farm and raising cows. He was very active in his church and his small community near Seven Points. Prior to his retirement, while living in Plano, TX, he was very active with the Boy Scouts, once serving as Scoutmaster of Plano. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers over the last two months, the Trauma ICU staff at ETMC in Tyler, TX, and most especially the ICU nurses and doctors at THR/Harris Methodist HEB for the excellent and compassionate care they provided.
