Sherry Lynn Smith

SHERRY JONES GRONEWALD SMITH Sherry Jones Gronewald Smith was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on December 6, 1948 to Herman and Dorothy Venable Jones. Sherry passed away at her home in Kaufman on June 12, 2009. She was raised in Mesquite and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1966. Sherry graduated from El Centro Nursing School in 1982. She worked in many different areas of nursing but found her love when God placed her in Hospice, where she was able to minister to patients spiritual and emotional needs as well as the physical and family needs. Sherry was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Kaufman Chapter. She married Paul David Smith on April 9, 1986 in Seagoville. Her parents and her husband Paul preceded Sherry in death. She is survived by her sons: Darren M. Gronewald and his wife Ann of Kaufman and Brandon Gronewald and his wife Karin of Kaufman, daughter: Cindy Crawford and her husband Mike of Kaufman, stepson: Paul David Smith, Jr. of Farmers Branch, stepdaughters: Darlene Griffin of Douglas, Arizona and Kimberly Jo Smith and her husband David of Corinth, brother: Garry Lee Jones, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces: Stacy and Tracy, nephew: Cody and many other relatives and friends.
