GRADY COLUMBUS CARROLL Grady Columbus Carroll was born in Dallas, Texas on September 27, 1921 to Christopher Columbus Carroll and Minnie Pearl Nelson. Grady passed away in a Kaufman hospital on April 15, 2010. Grady was raised in Dallas and attended Dallas schools. He entered the U. S. Army in 1943 serving in World War II. Grady serviced in Europe in the "Ghost Army" and was in the signal corp. He also participated in the "Battle of the Bulge" Grady was discharged in 1945 and he returned to Dallas. He owned and operated several different businesses in Dallas before going to work for Taylor Pontiac for many years. Grady moved to Kemp in the late 70's and was a member of the Becker United Methodist Church. Grady was on the board of directors for the Veterans Memorial Park in Kaufman and the Lone Oak Cemetery. On May 30, 1941 Grady married Billie Jean Cotton in Dallas. A son Stanley Carroll preceded Grady in death in 2002. He is survived by his wife: Billie Jean of Kemp, sons: Ron Carroll of Neosho, MO and Damon Carroll of Dallas, daughters: Debra Fauss of Waxahachie and Jennifer Heber of Blooming Grove, sister: Genita Garrett, nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives. Inl lieu of Flowers family has requested donations be to the Becker First United Methodist Churc h or the the Kaufman County Veterans Memorial Park.
