Charles Nathan Culver was born in Rosser, Texas on October 29, 1919 to Nathaniel and Ollie Waddle Culver. Charles passed away in an Ennis, Texas hospital on August 19, 2011. Charles was raised in Rosser and attended Rosser schools. He entered the U. S. Army on November 18, 1941 and was discharged on December 15, 1944. Charles worked for Neuhoff in Dallas for ten years as a mechanic and he was also a farmer. He was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Scurry. Charles was an avid reader and loved his garden and fruit trees. Charles married Wathina Ford on November 23, 1948 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Charles was preceded in death by a brother Benny Culver and sisters Leona Lockaby and Queena Leveritt. He is survived by his wife: Wathina Culver of Scurry, son: Charles Earl Culver of Scurry, daughters: Peggy Michelle Dorough of Scurry and Deanie Hauk of Ennis, brother: Thomas "Buddy" Culver of Kaufman, sisters: Joyce Jones of Allen, Dorothy Janitz of Indianapolis, Indiana and Glenda Taylor of Richardson, grandchildren: Lisa Wright, Missy Bower, Michael Fortner, Damon Hipp, Brandy Hipp and Stephenie Hauk and many other relatives and friends.
