Anita Benson Carrell passed from this earth to her heavenly home on December 16, 2022.
She was born to Herbert & Norene Benson on October 22, 1930, in Scurry, Texas. She married the love of her life James Carrell on September 30, 1950. They were married for 49 years before his passing. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother during her 92 years on this earth. She was also known as "Granny" by her grandkids and their friends. She lived her childhood years in Scurry before moving to Dallas after her marriage. She moved back to Scurry In 1974 & lived there until her death. She worked at several banks in the Kaufman area before retiring from American National Bank of Texas at the Crandall branch. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kaufman. She was a devout Christian lady who quietly portrayed her faith by selflessly helping others. She was a loyal friend to many over the years & will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband James Carrell, her parents Herbert & Norene Benson, brother Kirby Benson, & sister-in-law Jenell Benson. She is survived by her brother Wayne Benson, daughter Jean Trollinger & husband Dan, son Bryan Carrell & wife Juli, grandchildren Kim Brewer & husband Jeff, Julie Cole & husband Matt, Stephanie Peavy & husband Mason, Travis Carrell & wife Rae Ann. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren Jacob Cole, Hannah Cole, Brady Brewer, Elizabeth Cole, Karsyn Brewer, Kaden Brewer, Catherine Cole, Landyn Brewer, James Cole, Miles Peavy, & Grant Carrell. Also survived by nephew Terry Benson & wife Noelle, & niece Jana Minton & husband Jerry.
Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Anita during a visitation at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel in Kaufman, Texas, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, December 19, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 20th, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Kaufman with Olin Boles and Mason Peavy officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery in Scurry, Texas.
