Arlene Cantrell, 85, of Decatur Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Thomas and Antonette Burns, on August 18, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois.
She married the late Anthony Carman Caliendo in 1955 who then passed away in 1957 and is survived by her son, Anthony Michael Caliendo and his wife Leah of Grand Prairie. She re-married in 1960 to the late Robert Cantrell and is survived by her three children: Laura Fluker and her husband Les of Terrell, George Cantrell of Decatur and Lisa Kneece and her husband Troy of Decatur.
She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren: James Caliendo and his wife Ashlee, Jill Evans and her husband Aaron, Nick Caliendo and his wife Natalie, Meghan Bonfim and her husband Arison. She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren: Josh Rogers, Thomas Caliendo, Jessica Rogers, Daniel Caliendo, Stormee Caliendo, Kamdyn Caliendo, Skylee Caliendo, Blayze Caliendo, Ryland Caliendo and Kyla Bonfim.
She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Burns and his late wife Marie, his son Michael Burns and his wife Lynne, their son Miller, and his daughter Chelsea Burns.
Arlene loved to cook and celebrate holidays with her family. She loved watching the Food Channel, collecting countless recipes on her iPad and had every kitchen gadget you could imagine. Arlene was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. Arlene leaves a legacy of love and commitment to family and will be truly missed.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church located at 806 N Washington St, Kaufman, TX 75142. Following the service, a lunch will be held at Napoli's Italian Restaurant located at 101 State Hwy 205, Terrell, TX 75160. The internment will take place at 3:15 p.m. at the DFW National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
