Cindy was born in Lorain, Ohio to Paul Kabasan and Margret Kabasan she later moved to Las Vegas Nevada. During this time she had her son, Paul in 1980. After meeting and marrying Gary Shelton, they set off for Texas.Settling in Balch Springs, she opened a craft/antique store there and found a passion for crafting, reselling antiques and collectables. After a short stint of moving to Seagoville, Gary, Cindy and Paul settled in Kaufman, Texas in 1985. She poured her love into “the big white two story on Temple street” and brought her small business to Kaufman. Her love for antiques grew and she spent many years as a vendor at First Monday in Canton, TX. Cindy’s additional passion of doing for others was also shown through her management of the canteen for the VFW and the American Legion. She was always setting up parties, making food and planning events and volunteering anything else she could give. After retiring in 2013 she spent her time pouring more love into her house, caring for others, working on her yard and enjoying life. During her untimely passing she was surrounded by loving family and close friends at home, the home she poured all her love into. Cindy is proceeded in death by her dad, Paul Kabasan, mother, Margaret Burgess, husband Gary Shelton, Brother Bruce Maxwell, Sister Helen Burke, Brother Frank Osborne, sister dawnelle burgess. Cindy is survived by her son, Paul Shelton and wife Lori Shelton, Grandchildren, Olivia, Elizabeth, Eva, Emma, Peter and Paul jr. Brothers Chief Burgess and wife Tina, David Burgess and wife Wendy, John Burke. Sister Connie Seargent, Tina Simmons and husband Monty Several nieces and nephews including John Talbert.
