Danny Duane Smalley, born October 26, 1955, in Athens, Alabama, was a treasured soul, who graced this earth with an unparalleled kindness and an endearing spirit. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family and friends, on October 24, 2024, in Tyler, Texas.

Danny's journey through life was marked by unwavering morality, boundless love for his family, friends and pets, and his relentless compassion, strength, and generosity. 

Danny was a devoted family-man, a father who prided himself on loving, protecting, and raising his children well. He had a magnetic personality and a unique gift for creating bonds that transcended friendship. Danny was a steadfast pillar of support for many throughout his lifetime. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, who felt privileged and honored to serve his country. 

Danny is affectionally remembered by his children, Amy Smalley Nantz (spouse - Michael), Shelly Henson (spouse - Darrell), Robbie Woods (spouse - Tina), and Russ Cope (spouse - Katherine), who carry forth his lessons of integrity and compassion. Danny is missed by his sisters, Gail Giles, Lisa Tackett, Liz Brackin, and Kimberly Rivera, and his brother, Lanny Smalley. 

His legacy continues through his fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, eighteen nieces and nephews and cousins.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Victor Ray Smalley, his mother, Juanita Brackin, and his beloved children, Donny Duane Smalley and Danielle Dawn Smalley. 

 Services will be held on November 2, 2024, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry, Texas. Visitation at 2:00 pm and Graveside Service at 3:00 pm. After the services, family and friends will join in a “Celebration of Life,” in remembrance and honor this remarkable man who impacted many lives.
