Gary Lynn Evans

Gary Lynn Evans, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, following an extended illness.

Gary was born on September 1, 1949, in Beaumont, Texas to his parents, the late Carl Morris Evans and the late Lula Mae (Gilliam) Evans.

Gary served in the US Marine Corps. Following his term in the Marines, Gary returned to school to attain his nursing degree. When he graduated from the University of Texas Southwest in McAllen, he went to work in Mesquite as an emergency room registered nurse, where he worked for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Terry Evans, Valley Village, California; daughter Leah Knight-Schumacher and son, Mathew Evans; two grandchildren, Asher and Jayden. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

The family is planning a private celebration of Gary’s life in the future.
