Gerald Arthur Smith

Gerald Arthur Smith, 84, of Kaufman, TX passed away on August 10, 2024. Gerald was born on October 20, 1939, to Robert Smith and Elsie Ward Pierson in Bridgeport Alabama. Gerald graduated from Kaufman High School in 1958. He went to ETSU graduating with his bachelor's degree in 1970. He served in the Navy for 5 years before beginning to work for Honeywell, which he worked for 35 years before retiring. On February 8, 1962, he married Eva T. Smith and they spent a loving 62 years together. Gerald spent time fishing, playing golf, eating breakfast at Denny’s and watching his Dallas Cowboys. His most precious time was spent with his family. Gerald coached his daughter’s basketball and softball teams and loved family cookouts. He was a beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather. His parents, Robert Sr. and Elsie, and brothers Robert Jr. and Don Smith preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are wife Eva Smith, daughters Sherilyn Smith and Kristy Smith; grandchildren Kandace Ballew, Taylor Head and David Fleskes; great grandchildren: Enzo Fleskes, Mia Fleskes and soon to be born Braxton Arthur Howell; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
