Iris Rose Manasra-Tate

Iris Rose Manasra-Tate, 86, of Scurry, TX passed away on October 25,2023 in Kaufman, TX. Iris was born on June 5,1937 to George Clifton Bell and Sally Marie Bell in Sevierville, TN. after both parents passing while Iris was a young child, she was adopted from the Buckner Children's Home by Rufus and Opal Milam from Dallas ,TX. Iris graduated from Kilgore College with a nursing degree and worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years.  She enjoyed painting and other arts, listening to music, playing the organ and piano, and tending to the flowers in her garden.  Iris was a member of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron in 1988-1989. Iris was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Kaufman.  She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend.  Iris was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and her son Ricky Mewbourn.  Those left to cherish her memory are children: Kevin Marcus Tate and wife Rebecca, Jack Mewbourn, Terry Tate, Michael Tate and Jim Tate, Jr. and wife Nicole; daughter-in-law Lisa Mewbourn, grandchildren: Jillian Mewbourn Prentice, Ricky Mewbourn, Jr., James Tate, Genevieve Tate, Tony Garrard and wife Sarah, Kali LaFoy, ZachTate, Risa Oberbeck and Jackson Mewbourn; 11 great grandchildren, along with her significant other Daniel Davis , her good friend Mary Ann Carothers and numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
