Jacqueline "Jackie" Edwards

Jacqueline “Jackie” Edwards, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, gracefully departed this world on November 21, 2024, in Kaufman, Texas. Born on December 22, 1937, in Chesterfield, Virginia, Jackie lived a life marked by love, kindness, and unwavering generosity.

As a devoted mother, Jackie was the heartbeat of her family, known for her nurturing spirit and ability to make everyone feel loved. She created a warm and welcoming home atmosphere that enveloped her loved ones in comfort and security. Her daughters, Kim Ogden and Kedrin Hodges, were not just her children; they were her joy and inspiration, and she took great pride in being their mother. She was extremely proud of their service to their country – Kim’s service in the United States Marine Corps and Kedrin’s service in the United States Navy.

Jackie had an adventurous spirit; she planned all the family’s weekly trips to DoublFun Campground, where unforgettable memories were made. Whether it was fishing, boating across the Rappahannock River, or camping under starlit skies, she found delight in each moment spent with her family. Her passion for water skiing brought laughter and excitement to many summers, showcasing her lively character and zest for life. Additionally, Jackie found joy in crafting beautiful ceramics, using her artistic talents to fill her home with warmth and creativity.

Her legacy lives on through her loving family. Jackie is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Buddy Edwards, who stood by her side through all of life's adventures. Her two daughters, Kim Ogden (spouse – Dave) and Kedrin Hodges (spouse – Jeremy Wagner); grandchildren, Christopher Knight, Alexandra Powell, Katie Lowe, Kayla Owens, Emma Ogden, Brittany Hodges, David Lee Ogden, and Amber Hodges carry forward her spirit, as do her great-grandchildren Trey Powell, Madden Powell, and Aria Ogden, who were the apples of her eye.

Though Jackie has reunited with her deceased loved ones, including her parents Albert Theo Maxey and Gertrude Smith Maxey, her son Keith Blankenship, her sister Maxine Collins, and her brother, Albert Maxey.

Her loving spirit and cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Jackie taught her family the importance of kindness and always finding joy in the simple things, lessons that will resonate for generations to come.

In this time of sorrow, we celebrate the incredible life of Jackie Edwards, a woman whose warmth and light will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
