Jan Ovetta Lindsey

Jan Ovetta Lindsey, 84, of Kemp, TX passed away on October 24, 2021. Jan was born on August 31, 1937 in Dallas, TX to Harris and Margie Guess. Jan married Otho Gifton Lindsey on July 31, 1952 in Rockwall, TX and they were married for 60 years before he passed away in November 2012. She served as President of the PTA at Hodges Elementary in Balch Springs, TX for several years. O. G. & Jan were charter members of Newman Park Baptist Church in Dallas. Jan was involved in the WMA's & GMA's at Newman Park & Calvary Baptist Church in Mesquite for over 25 years. Jan is a member of Grays Prairie Missionary Baptist Church. She is a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are children: Harris Gifton Lindsey and wife Deborah, Joe Charles Lindsey and wife Debbie, Karen Janiece Hilgenfeld and husband Walter and Janet Ysleta House and husband Doug; grandchildren: Heather Wade & husband Larry (Bud), Sarah Lindsey, Jennifer Reynolds & husband Aron, Cynda House, Kayla Slovak & husband Nate and Travis Lindsey; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Joy Latricia Kirby, Linda Mae Lunday and husband James and Scharlotte Lee Helsey; numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
