Janet L. Wood

Janet L. Wood, 76, of Kaufman, Texas passed away at her home on February 1, 2020, Janet was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 2, 1943, to Louis Lawrence and Theresa Laurie Tenute. Janet was a wonderful and caring woman. She was a very spiritual woman and put Jesus and her ministry first. It showed all throughout Janet's life that she cared a lot for others. Janet was very charitable when it came to children donating time with organizations like CASA and The Gabrielle Project. Jan served as Director of the Gabriel Project for Tyler Tx Dioceses, which is a pro-life ministry offering love and practical support to women experiencing a crisis pregnancy. Over the years Janet fostered 23 kids. While she loved and cared for other’s she loved her husband and her family the most. Janet was a very loving Granny to her family. Like she was known to do, Janet’s life will always be remembered as a blessing to all those who got the chance to experience her love and dedication to the things she felt important. The charity work at the Genesis center and the work she did concerning domestic violence will be missed by those her work affected. Janet is survived by her loving husband C. Vance Wood of Kaufman, Sons: Mike Atkins and wife Monica of Lewisville, Charles Vance Wood Jr. and husband Ben Gomez of Mesquite, Texas. Daughters: Becky Buchanan and husband Clint of Pilot Point, Selena M. Wilson and husband Chris of Dallas, Kelsey Richardson of McKinney, Brother: Gregory Tenute and wife Linda of Missouri, sisters: Victoria Tenute of Kaufman, Chris Kuster and husband Kevin of Flower Mound, Grandchildren: Mark Buchanan, Meagan Buchanan, Kailey Richardson, Mason Richardson, Gabrielle M. Atkins, Gavin Wilson, Cael Wilson, Mazzie G. Atkins, Great-Grandchild: Ella Joy Buchanan. Janet is preceded in death by her Parents: Louis and Theresa Tenute, Sister: Ginger Conroy, Grandchildren: Liam Christopher Wilson and Micah L. Atkins.
