Janis Day

Janis Wren Day, 86, of Kaufman, Texas went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2024. Jan was born on July 4, 1938, in Teague, Texas.  She was the youngest child of Glover and Dora Wren. She held countless treasured memories of the times they spent together which included hard work, fun and love for each other.  She faithfully attended the Kaufman Church of Christ. Jan’s commitment to faith was a bond that never wavered. Her tireless work and devotion to helping others was one of her many qualities and blessings until the end.  She married Cecil W. Day on August 21, 1955. They shared a loving 42 years together and had three children: Tina, Terisa, and Leland.  Upon graduating from nursing school in 1992, she worked as an oncology nurse. Her last years of nursing were spent at Texas Oncology Presbyterian in Dallas, Texas. Jan enjoyed visiting the Arboretum, watching birds and spending time with her family and friends.  She was preceded in death on August 19, 1997, by her husband Cecil. Also preceding her were her parents Glover and Dora as well as two grandchildren, five sisters and one brother.  Those left to cherish her memory are Tina Overbeck and husband, William; Terisa Keller and husband, Pat; Leland Day, and wife Leanne. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
