Mrs. Joyce Faye Moore, 85, of Kaufman Texas went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2024. Joyce was born on June 17, 1939, to David and Velma McBride in Bright Star, Texas.
Joyce retired from Southwestern Bell in 2001 after twenty-five plus years of service. After retirement she went to work as the church secretary at Kaufman Assembly of God working for Reverend D.G. Council and later for Reverend Jerry Groom.
On October 1, 1955, Joyce married John Moore Sr. and had two boys, John Moore Jr., and James Moore. She was told she should have written a book after raising these two.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband John Moore Sr., her parents David and Velma McBride, her siblings David McBride Jr, Freddy McBride, and Juanita Spradlin.
Joyce is survived by her sons John Jr. and wife Charlotte, James and wife Tracey, four grandchildren, Jason Moore (April), Ashley Cook (Jay), Clinton Moore (Shelby), and Katelyn Moore. Five great-grandchildren Kolton Cook, McKynna Rotenberry, Jase Moore, Caroline Moore, and Lucchese Moore, her sister Louise Boles, and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was known as Nanny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Joycey Faye to her nieces and nephews.
Joyce never missed a bargain; she never drove by a garage sale without stopping and she could spot a good deal a mile away. To the frustration of Pop (John Sr.) his garage was always full of junk that she had bought and was going to sale and make money from which she almost always did.
