Joyce Lynn Sales passed away December 20th, 2019 in the comfort of her home, accompanied by her children and grandkids, at the age of 67. Joyce was born January 29th, 1952 the eldest daughter of the late William Arthur Sales and Bobbie Marie Robertson Sales of Rusk, Tx.
Joyce led with her heart, finding the good in people and believed, regardless their faults, they could change for the better. She never met a stranger, she had such an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile, she was sarcastic and sassy, and had a hug that could warm the coldest of hearts. She was an East Texas native, but spent nearly 34yrs in Southern California starting and raising a family before relocating with her partner, Richard Glazier, and children back to Rusk, Tx.
She was able to call Texas, California, Arizona and Tennessee home at different points in her life. She enjoyed watching Westerns (the older, the better), she loved classic and 90’s country, and more than that she loved her some George Strait. In her prime, her favorite thing to do was going to Lorettas (those who know, know) with her closest girlfriends and dancing into the early morning! She loved working in the yard and Christmas was her favorite holiday. What brought her the most joy wasn’t materialistic possessions, but the time she spent with her family, her dog Patches and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her partner of 25 years, Richard Glazier, her brother: Raymond Sales, Sisters: Robbie and Patricia Sales, and Parents: William Arthur Sales and Bobbie Marie Robertson (Sales), grandparents and great grandparents.
She wore two titles with pride, that of a Mom and Memaw. Those left to cherish and carry Joyce’s memory are her three children and their spouses, daughter: Davina Mayes and husband of Scurry Tx., son: Samuel Leon and wife Amber of Mabank Tx., and daughter: Leilani Sales of Gun Barrel City Tx.; her grandchildren: Steven “Bubba” Swayze, Marissa Carter, Rachel “RaeRae” Swayze, Samantha “Pookie” Mayes, BreAnna “Bre” Cheatham, Samuel “Pooter” Leon, Jr., MaKenz “Kenz” Leon and Cobe “CobeJo” Leon, and two great-grandchildren: Airrianna and Bryleigh Swayze.
Memorial service will be Sunday, January 19th. Please contact family for location and time.
